Performance Measurement (Bris)

How we measure the value of the procurement contribution is a perennial issue for procurement professionals. For many we are still measured primarily on savings, but what other contributions should we be measuring.

With savings we often hear the complaint from the CFO that the savings we claimed didn’t appear on the bottom line. So how do we measure them; what is justifiable and what is not. What other measures should we be looking at:

  • Service and quality factors
  • Operational performance
  • Added value
  • People

As this is a broad topic, we anticipate the group meeting on a few occasions to work through all of the issues. PASA will develop an agenda that guides you through exploration of the topic. Typical examples of issues raised by participants at previous sessions are:

  • What tools are currently being used to evaluate performance in Procurement, and what where is it heading?
  • Challenge: how to sustain contribution?
  • Cost savings vs TCO vs. Cost avoidance?
  • Understanding the tools available for performance/contract management
  • Understand what should be measured and how to compare to peer companies when KPI's vary broadly across categories
  • And many more!

When registering please submit those issues that are top of mind for you in regard to performance measurement.
