Changes to the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws were introduced on 1 October 2018. These changes aligned CoR laws more closely with workplace health and safety laws. The aim of COR is to make sure everyone in the supply chain shares responsibility for ensuring breaches of the Heavy Vehicle National Laws do not occur.
Particularly, that all people involved in the supply chain must make sure that any terms of consignment, work contracts, supplier agreements or employment contracts will not result in/Encourage/Reward/Incentivise individuals or organisations to break any law for any party in the supply chain.
THIS INCLUDES MOST PROCUREMENT MANAGERS and the possibility of their individual liability for the supply chains they instruct.
This briefing workshop will inform all participants on the new CoR laws, their potential liability, the needs of the laws in different states and relative to national laws, and illustrate how “Reasonable Steps” under these laws and regulations also means making “Reasonable Enquiry” of your supply chain.
